Namibia : 2008

    Our team of professional filmmakers and educators from the US and Namibia will spend 4 weeks teaching the kids to write, produce, and act in their own film. Children of Our Villages will train and collaborate with members of the local community, forming Namibian Community Ambassadors.  Through life-skills and self-expression workshops, the children will gain a stronger sense of identity, ownership, and the story they want to share with the world!

   Namibians struggle to cope with the rapidly increasing, orphaned population. The children, lacking parents and care-givers, are left searching for identity, self-confidence, and outlets for self-expression. These films will not only raise awareness and prosperity for the children, but also, the process of collaboration and creativity will give each participant a sense of belonging and empowerment.
